The Flowers
Florist’s inspiration: The mandala is a symbol of enlightenment and wisdom. In a nod to the Anderson’s interest in Asian art I have created an exploded mandala form composed of cuneiform shards, paper and computer elements made into flowers, all intertwined with real pressed and dried flowers representing the different ways that information has been disseminated in libraries through the ages. The pressed flowers and herbs used include those that symbolize wisdom; asters, irises, sage, rosemary, lavender in shades of the traditional colors of wisdom, gold, blue, violet.
