The Inspiration

Oil on plaster mural, Italian Garden at Weld

The Flowers

Florist’s inspiration: Nature has always been my happy place, especially blooming gardens and my everyday inspiration. From botanical collections to stunning gardens that make the most of their dramatic setting, this Italian garden mural is sure to refresh and inspire and was always one of my favorites in Anderson House.

Recipe: Light and airy color palette floral blooms with greenery, designed in a floral foam and large stone planter.

Diana Skenderovic is the lead designer and owner of Black Calla Events. She has always loved flowers. As a little girl, she enjoyed every bloom in her mother’s garden. She fulfilled her lifelong dream when she became a part of one of the leading floral design companies in the Washington, D.C. area. As the Director for Special Events and Weddings, for 12 years she was part of the design team and truly loved her job. Diana has always enjoyed meeting new clients, designing and organizing, and finally bringing clients’ vision to reality.

After taking some time off to raise and enjoy her two beautiful boys, she decided to launch her own business. At Black Calla Events, she continues to do what she loves most. She puts her heart and soul into each event and is truly grateful for the opportunity to work with each client.

Andie Ingagliato started her career as a fine art portrait photographer in 2008. Her passion for gorgeous imagery started with studies in classical music and theater which led to her receiving her BFA in photography and film from one of the top art programs in the nation: Virginia Commonwealth University.

Her wedding and portraiture work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, Washingtonian Weddings, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings and acknowledged by fashion designers, including Draper James.

Her characteristic style combines romance and editorial perspective with authenticity. She is uniquely gifted with bringing a sense of finesse into everything she touches while making it seem completely effortless. After 15 years of capturing weddings and families during the most precious times of their lives, she can truly say that this is exactly where she is meant to be.

When she isn't photographing weddings, Andie enjoys the outdoors alongside her husband, Tony and daughter, Ava.
