Trompe l’oeil arches
The Flowers
Florist’s inspiration: Often finding inspiration in color and shape, I was drawn to the trompe l'oeil mural for its elegant white marble tones and architectural arches. I wanted to create something sculptural, ethereal, natural and organic with a color story inspired by the ancient seas of Greece, olive leaf crowns of the Olympic games and ethereal white and gold worn by gods and goddesses of Greek and Roman mythology.

Tang Bourommavong is the proud owner and lead designer of Tang Austin Floral Designs, a creative event floral design studio located in Falls Church, VA just outside of Washington, D.C. The nature-inspired organic style of her floral design highlights color, texture, and shape allowing for unique floral pieces that are artful, timeless and elegant. Her natural style was fostered by the abundance of flowers, fruit trees, vegetables, and herbs that flourished in her parent's garden. She credits her beautiful mother for her love of flowers, especially the peonies, roses, clematis vines and hydrangea that filled their garden with beauty.
As a child, you could always find Tang fluttering around flowers like a butterfly. She is a passionate, self-taught floral designer originally from Laos who immigrated to the D.C. area with her family at the age of two, living in Michigan and Georgia and now she calls Virginia home. Her initial venture into the flower world started while working in telecommunications. She was in search of a creative outlet and stumbled upon a position at a quaint European style flower shop where she first learned to design and fell in love with the industry.
She has been creating beautiful, artisan designs using locally sourced and seasonal blooms for special events and celebrations for more than two decades. She is the creative force behind designs that capture the organic beauty seen in nature and life. Her work reflects her love for sophisticated color palettes and fascinating textures. Her goal always is to bring spectacular beauty to your special events and celebrations through the art of floral design.
