27. Torchière and lantern

2025 installation - Ballroom
The Inspiration
To adorn the Ballroom, the Andersons added a reproduction Venetian gondola lantern to an antique gilt wood Spanish torchière to create this electrified lamp—one of a pair flanking the fireplace.
The Flowers
Florist’s inspiration: Roses, ranunculus, branches and filler flowers
Recipe: I wanted to capture the regal nature of the Ballroom Torchiere but add a softer, spring twist. Some of the flowers are unexpected next to such an elegant piece. I also imagined the Torchiere having movement so I added this element with the draping pieces.
